Why Rest Is Just as Important as Driving Forward: Embracing the Art of BE-ing in 2025

The start of a new year often brings a rush to do—to set goals, make plans, and achieve more. As someone that's driven and a born multitasker, I get it!! But beneath all the striving, there’s a quieter truth waiting to be embraced: we are human beings, not human doings.
I've learned that rest isn’t about stepping away from life; it’s about stepping into it, fully present, without the need to perform or achieve.
In a world that glorifies busyness, embracing rest as a state of being can feel revolutionary and like the ultimate act of rebellion!
It’s about pausing, not to recharge for the next task, but simply to reconnect with yourself.
To let yourself be.
The Power of BE-ing
When we embrace rest as an act of being, we move from living externally to living with more presence and intention. Here are some ways you can incorporate more being into your day-to-day life:
Practice Intentional Stillness: Spend a few moments sitting in silence. Listen to your breath, feel your heartbeat, or simply notice the world around you without judgment or expectation.
Welcome Your Emotions: Instead of trying to push past difficult feelings, allow yourself to fully experience them. Emotions are just E-nergy in MOTION (EMOTION) They tend to come in waves and will often hold valuable insights if we can learn to pause and allow them to move through us.
Move Through Your Day Mindfully: Slow down your pace. Walk, eat, and speak with intention. Each moment of mindfulness is an act of presence in itself.
Carve Out Space for Nothingness: Leave time in your schedule to simply be. These unscheduled moments aren’t wasted—they’re where clarity and creativity emerge.
Seek Out Restorative Practices: Explore activities that bring you back into balance and connection with yourself, whether it’s gentle movement, nourishing treatments, or time spent in nature.
